Date of Event:  29-31 July 2021

It is a matter of pleasure that Research/Community Service / Technology Transfer, Directorate, Mizan-Tepi University, ETHIOPIA has organized a three-day virtual workshop on Publications,  SCOPUS Indexed journals in collaboration with MathTech Thinking Foundation (MTTF), INDIA w.e.f. 29-31 July 2021. The entire workshop has wrapped up after seven days of wonderful scientific interaction, many knowledgeable experiences and a promise of yet another interaction in the future. The registration in this workshop was free and a certificate of participation to each registered participant was given who attend the workshop successfully. It was held through Cisco WebEx and lives to stream on YouTube.  Total 919 participants from 23 countries registered in this workshop. The Keynote speaker was Dr. Mohammad Javed Idrisi, Department of Mathematics, Mizan-Tepi University, ETHIOPIA; Dr. Mehar Chand,
Department of Mathematics, Baba Farid College, Bathinda, INDIA and Dr. Naveen Mani, Department of Mathematics, University Institute of, Sciences, Chandigarh, University, (Punjab), INDIA. On the first of the workshop, Dr. Bharti Kapoor (Department of Mathematics, Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College, Sri Anandpur Sahib, Punjab, INDIA) express her view on the importance of the workshop and then she introduces and invited first day keynote speaker Dr. Mohammad Javed Idrisi. Dr. Mohammad presented his thoughts on how to write research article and manuscript? All the basic concepts discussed with details. Then he gave some examples to submit the paper in repute journals. Also he suggested some SCOPUS Indexed Journals and publications for their writing.

On the second day of the workshop, Dr. Mehar Chand was keynote speaker. He was introduced by Dr. Bharti Kapoor. He presented his thought on SCOPUS journals vs Predatory Journals, SCOPUS supports for researchers, librarians and research administrators. At the end he discussed some academic profiles to create on Google Scholar, ResearchGate, SCOPUS, ORCID, Publons, Academia, etc.  On the last day, Dr. Naveen Mani was Keynote Speaker and he was introduced and then invited by Dr. Bharti Kapoor. He started with expressing his views on Indexed journal, publications in Indexed journal and their importance for their career. He gave some examples to create account in SCOPUS and then after how any one can download list of scopus indexed journals around the world in all branches of Sciences. The he teach how to create account in ORCID and connect the same with SCOPUS.

This was wonderful virtual workshop, which make us realized that we are practice in real mode. All the session ends by presenting the certification to the expert speakers. All the session were very interesting and appreciated by the attended. Overall, the workshop has wrapped up on a promising note. It was a useful interaction that is sure to motivate many aspirants. Sharing their experiences with some of leading researchers was a golden opportunity for us and we are thankful for that. We look forward to such interactions in near future. We are grateful for all experts, for their wisdom and above all, we appreciated your willingness to spend your valuable time with us. In all, it was an absolute honor to share space with you even if its virtual space.

At the end, Mr. Sintayehu Gashew, Research/Community Service/Technology Transfer, Directorate, MTU, Tepi Campus, ETHIOPIA shared the overall report of the event among all the participants and he also acknowledged the appreciation from the participants. He present brief summary of the three day workshop and also expressed his gratitude to the entire team working around the clock to make this event successful. After that he gave vote of thanks.  He expressed deep sense of appreciation to all the members for their valuable support. He said that we are grateful to the participants to support us. He acknowledged to Dr. Mehar Chand, President (MTTF, India), all the organizing committee members Mr. Assaye Belay, Mr. Daniel Melese, Mr. Gebrgiorgis Ashebir, Mr. Mezgebe Araya, Dr. Bharti Kapoor, Ms. Jaskiran Kaur, and Ms. Sarita Rani. He shared his experience and reviews during this workshop. He also thanked the all the participant for their active participation and patience during the workshop. He thanked all the members and the workshop ended with these words.
