About the EARG Awards
To mark International Pi Day (March 14, 2024), in tribute to the renowned physicist Albert Einstein, the MathTech Thinking Foundation (MTTF) is delighted to announce the inaugural Entrepreneurs, Academicians & Researchers Guild Awards (EARG)-2023. This event is being organized in collaboration with the Poornima College of Engineering, Jaipur, as a part of the commemorative celebration held on 19th March 2024. These awards are presented by MTTF, an NGO established under Section 8 of the Companies Act 2013, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India.
Nomination and Selection Process:
- Interested candidates can submit their nominations online via the official registration forms.
- Nominees have the option to apply for multiple award categories, and they must submit a separate application for each category they wish to be considered for.
- Nominee must provide a comprehensive overview of the research and development efforts, their impact, and, if applicable, letters of recommendation.
- A distinguished panel of expert judges, consisting of renowned researchers and professionals in the field, will evaluate the nominations.
- The judging panel will assess the nominations in accordance with the selection criteria and select the recipient(s) of the award.
- Entries will be assessed by a panel of judges, and their decisions will be conclusive and will not be subject to challenge.
- The names of all award recipients will be publicly disclosed on the website and communicated via email notifications.
- Entries submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

The National/International EARG Awards instituted by MTTF serve as a testament to the relentless pursuit of excellence in Research and Development (R&D), Industry, and Academia. These awards aim to:

EARG Award Categories and Eligibility
Each award category has distinct eligibility criteria designed to match its specific focus area. This approach ensures that a wide variety of individuals contributing to the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) are acknowledged for their outstanding work and influence on society. The nominations for this award will be categorized separately within different domains of the STEM field. The categories and eligibility of awards are given as:
(1) Lifetime Achievement Award in Academia and Research
The Lifetime Achievement Award in Academia and Research is to recognize individual’s exceptional contribution to education, research, and scholarly endeavors over their entire career. It symbolizes decades of dedication, innovation, and profound impact on their field, inspiring future generations and shaping the future of knowledge. This prestigious honor celebrates a lifelong commitment to intellectual pursuits, leaving an enduring legacy in the world of academia and research.
Eligibility:
- The nominee must have a minimum of 20+ years of significant contributions in their field.
- The award is open to researchers, scientists, engineers, and research teams worldwide
- The nominee should have made contributions in a minimum of six of the following areas:
- Web of Science/ SCOPUS indexed publications
- Book / Book Chapters publication
- Patent published / Granted
- Research guide as Supervisor/co-supervisor
- MOOC Course (Swayam-NPTEL, Coursera, etc.) content delivered
- Keynote speaker/Session Chaired/ Paper presented in National / International conference
- Research project handled (Pursuing/Completed)
- Top 2% Scientists Worldwide 2023 by Stanford University
(2) Excellence in Academic Leadership Award
The award aims to recognize and celebrate exceptional leadership in academia, focusing on individuals who have made significant contributions to advancing education, research, and innovation on a global scale.
Eligibility:
- Nominee: Any academic leader (such as University President, Vice-Chancellor, Pro-Chancellor, Principal of College, Dean, Department Head, etc.) from accredited institutions worldwide.
- The nominee will describe his/her contribution as a leader for his/her institute (Students and Employ’s welfare) and Society
(3) Award for International Achievement
The purpose of the Award for International Achievement is to acknowledge individuals who have shown consistent dedication and engagement in international endeavors, leading to recognition and reinforcing the institution’s mission on the global stage.
Eligibility:
- Full-time faculty with the rank of full Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor with not less than THREE years of teaching experience at UG/PG level may be nominated for these awards.
- Top 2% Scientists Worldwide 2023 by Stanford University
- International Award winner
(4) Innovative Excellence with MTTF Collaboration
The Innovative Excellence Award celebrates global innovators, research groups, and organizations shaping STEM’s future. Aligned with MTTF’s mission, this award promotes collaboration and acknowledges individuals and groups making significant contribution in the field of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, ultimately benefiting society.
Eligibility:
- Nominee Categories: Individual, Department level contribution, Institution collaboration
- Nominees are required to provide a list of activities organized in collaboration with MTTF or demonstrate their individual contributions aligning with the objectives of MTTF.
(5) Award for Outstanding Faculty of the Year 2024
The ‘Outstanding Faculty of the Year’ award aims to honor senior faculty members who consistently demonstrate exceptional performance and excellence in advancing the institution’s goals and fulfilling its mission. This recognition celebrates their remarkable achievements in teaching, mentoring students and junior faculty, conducting research or creative projects, contributing to service initiatives, and engaging in other activities that have brought distinction to both them and the institution.
Eligibility:
- Faculty members holding the position of full professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor with a minimum of ten years of teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels are eligible for nomination for this award.
- Academic Excellence: The nominee must demonstrate a consistent record of academic excellence in teaching, research, and/or service.
- Positive Impact: The nominee should have made a significant, positive impact on students, colleagues, and the institution.
- Innovative Contributions: The nominee should have contributed innovative teaching methods, research, or other valuable initiatives to the academic community.
- Leadership and Collaboration: The nominee must exhibit leadership qualities and demonstrate effective collaboration within the institution.
Supporting Documentation:
- Nomination Letter: A formal nomination letter from a colleague, department head, or administrator supporting the faculty member’s nomination.
- Curriculum Vitae: A comprehensive curriculum vitae outlining the nominee’s educational background, work experience, research, publications, and service contributions.
- Teaching Evaluations: Recent teaching evaluations, including student feedback and peer reviews, to demonstrate teaching effectiveness.
- Research Contributions: Evidence of the nominee’s research contributions, such as publications, grants, or patents.
- Letters of Recommendation: Letters of recommendation from students, colleagues, and supervisors highlighting the nominee’s exceptional qualities and achievements.
- Innovative Initiatives: Documentation of any innovative teaching methods, research projects, or other initiatives introduced by the nominee.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Examples and descriptions of the nominee’s leadership roles, collaboration efforts, and their effect on the academic community
(6) Excellence in Research and Development
The MTTF International Excellence in Research and Development Award aims to recognize and honor individuals or research teams that have made significant contributions to the field of Research and Development, leading to innovative solutions and advancements with a potential impact on society and industry.
Eligibility:
- The award is open to researchers, scientists, engineers, and research teams worldwide.
- The research and development work being nominated must have a significant and positive impact on the respective field.
- Nominations can be submitted by individuals
- The nominee should have made contributions in a minimum of four of the following areas:
- Web of Science/ SCOPUS indexed publications
- Book / Book Chapters
- Patent published / Granted
- Research guide as Supervisor/Co-supervisor
- MOOC Course (Swayam-NPTEL, Coursera, etc.) content delivered
- Keynote Speaker/Session Chaired/ Paper presented in National and International conference
- Research project handled (Pursuing/Completed)
(7) Young Scholar Award of the Year 2024
The Young Scholar Award by MTTF aims to recognize and promote outstanding achievements and contributions made by young scholar in STEM fields of research and innovation.
Eligibility:
- Scholars within the age bracket of 35 years or younger
- Candidates from all countries and scientific disciplines are eligible to apply
- The top five papers with the most significant impact factors in reputed journals, published within the last three years
- The scholar’s H-Index and i10 Index on Google Scholar
(8) Young Entrepreneur Award of the Year 2024
The Young Entrepreneur Award of the Year recognizes exceptional young entrepreneurs who have demonstrated outstanding business acumen, innovation, and leadership skills. This prestigious award celebrates their achievements and contributions to the business world, serving as a source of inspiration for aspiring entrepreneurs.
To qualify for the award, applicants must fulfill the following requirements:
- Be aged between 18 and 35.
- Showcase exemplary leadership within their respective field.
- Illustrate the significance of entrepreneurship as a means to bring about positive change.
- Exhibit concrete and measurable entrepreneurial achievements, which can be indicated by revenue and the number of employees.
(9) Innovative Startup Award of the Year 2024
The Innovative Startup Award recognizes groundbreaking and original startups that bring fresh and creative solutions to the market. It celebrates entrepreneurial ventures that push the boundaries of innovation and disrupt traditional industry norms.
To qualify for the award, applicants must fulfill the following requirements:
- The startup should be a DPIIT recognized startup. The entity must submit their certificate of incorporation or partnership deed
- The entity must have a hardware or software product or a process solution that is present in the market
- The entity must have all applicable trade trade-specific registrations (example: CE, FSSAI, MSME, GST Registration, etc.)
- There should not have been any default in the last three years (FY 2019-20, 20-21, 21-22 (provisional)) by the entity or any of its promoters or any of their group entities
- In case your startup is less than 3 years old, please upload all available financial statements. Startups that are less than a year old and do not have audited financials will be exempt from this requirement. In case of non-availability of audited financials for FY 21-22, provisional statements issued by a chartered accountant may be provided.
